Nobel peace prize and obama

What do i think of the Nobel peace prize and Obama. Does Obama deserve to get voted to recive the Nobel peace prize only 12 days into office? I personally don't think so at least not yet, because they focus on him and his idea of world without nuclear weapons. He is not the first person to have this thought, alot of other political leaders have had this vision and they have not gotten Nobel peace prize's for this. I think that if we were going to give him the award we should have waited at least a year to see if he really did allot of good for our country and the world. 12 days into his presidency is way to early for this he did not really have a chance to do good. Although i think that Obama has done allot of good for our country i feel we needed to wait a bit longer to give him an award of this importance. What are your thoughts?

  2. I never thought about this until this year but I'm not sure that The Peace Prize has ever been given for the complete success. I feel that the past awards have been given for a significant contribution toward a final goal. Martin Luther King Jr. didn't end prejudice or racism, but he knocked down major barriers. Jimmy Carter did not win the prize for Mideast Peace and the Dalai Lama did not win for freeing Tibet. I'm not sure it is for the success, I think it is for the movement.
